As a Freelancer in Graphic designing, would you rather design manually by yourself from scratch for your client or you will rather learn good AI prompts that can deliver equal or more excellent results and saves time

I’d combine both — use AI for quick ideas or drafts, then refine manually. Pure AI can save time, but personal creativity and custom touches still make designs stand out.

Honestly, I feel like both methods have their own value. When I design from scratch, I get full creative freedom and the work feels more personal. But learning good AI prompts definitely saves a lot of time and still gives great results. For me, the best approach is mixing the two—use AI to speed things up and spark ideas, then use my own skills to fine-tune everything. That way the final design is fast and original.

Why would I need AI images? I know how to use ChatGPT and I can generate better images myself as I have a better understanding of what I need.

As a freelancer in graphic design, I would prefer to combine both approaches by using well-crafted AI prompts to save time and generate creative ideas while still relying on my manual design skills to refine the work and ensure it fully matches the client’s vision.

I would rather create something with ai prompts that the client wanted and get the best I could or a series of satisfying images. I wouldn't think you can get paid for generating AI slop, since anyone can do it. The job is then what you do with those iamges. FOr example. I would trace a high quality vector SVG, and give the client that, and allow them to sale the design to any size they wanted and get maximum quality every time. Thats the part of the jigsaw AI can't do right now. So thats where you make your money, and focus your labour. I would charge a premium, and confirm, they couldn't possibly get a better result than with me. (I can proove it with draft low quality generation when finished)

If you trace artwork for clients, it means you can get paid in stages, ai image generations and confirmation, trace of outline in dark lines, color, extras, then final export, and save, and send.

I’d leverage both approaches. AI provides rapid brainstorming and initial structure, but manual refinement adds the creativity and nuance that truly sets a design apart. Speed from AI, uniqueness from you.

I would prefer to learn good AI prompts to deliver excellent results quickly while still incorporating my own creative touch.

I would tend to favor the learning of the AI prompts. They are capable of being time savers while, at the same time, yielding first-rate outcomes, and you have the option of making modifications or improving the output manually to give it a personal touch whenever it is necessary.

It depend how much my client is willing to pay haha.

It really depends on what the project is and what the client wants. Learning how to write prompts for AI can save you a bunch of time and can get you really good results. But designing something yourself gives you all the control and makes it unique.

A lot of freelancers these days do both; they use AI to get ideas or make drafts, and then they fix it by hand to make sure the final product is amazing.

As a freelance graphic designer, I prefer a hybrid approach—using well-crafted AI prompts to save time and spark creative ideas, while relying on my hands-on design skills to refine the results and ensure they align perfectly with the client’s vision.

I’m a freelance website developer, and I use AI alongside my skills to build better, more efficient websites.

yes first i make rough skatch and understand what client want from us and search from some refrences and also give the refevces to ai and write a promt to what i need in the design after that i will start it to make a perfect logo from the refece provided by ai make them more better and it will help a lot and enhace my work flow get me good result in the provided time by client

AI is a good choice. You’ve already mentioned the advantages: it can save a lot of time without losing quality. That's a killer feature

It is right that now a days Ai is very advanced and it makes the work easier but i suggest you to not completely depend on Ai. In some cases Ai makes mistakes in designs and text structure etc. I would suggest you to work manually by yourself to create designs because this is the only way to get the result which you want. You can also use Ai in some emergency cases or in urgent needs. It might be helpful.

I’d use both, AI prompts to speed up ideation and production, but still rely on manual design skills to refine, customize, and make the final result truly client-ready.

yes we can combine both ai and manual design to design sufficent and make sure it also match the approch of the client

the real flex is when clients can't tell which parts are ai and which parts are you. use ai for the boring stuff like mockups and variations, keep your hands on the final polish. that's how you 2x your output without dropping quality
