Hello guys. I have a question.
If i copy for example a game description (100-150 words) from a high-rated website (Wikipedia or the official website of the game) and put the copied part to my website, if i put Source: website after the taken part Google will ban/penalize me?
And the format is written well, i mean source: website ? And i need to put this code immediately after the copied part or at the end of the article? (notice that i will have about 300 unique words besides the game description part)

Adystanley,

The quick answer is no, you will not be directly penalized for this however you do run the risk of Google not indexing the page. Chances are it will be fine. Google looks for large chuncks of duplicate content and even when they find that, its not as if that page or site has a manual or automatic penalty placed on it. Googlebot might just say, "this already exists in the index" and leave it.

Read Google's info on this thoroughly and you may get a better understanding of how they treat duplicate content,

Hope that helps,

i am a noob here but after four days of silent reading and searching these are my 2 cents...

1. use someone's content, no google love
2. take someone's content, spin it to 70% plus originality...expect some love

I think it depend on your site authority. If your site is a "good" site that having lot of unique and high quality contents and now You are adding 1 or 2 content like you have written above. I think it will be fine as you are adding your own content too.

Just my opinion, correct me if i m wrong

You can rank dupe content from Wikipedia but make some variables around it with different titles and other text around the article but leave the Wiki article as is.

Dupe content works when used in the right way, I have seen sites with dupe content on all pages ranking at #1, still ranking at #1 with all the algo updates.
