Articles in Issuu are not indexed by Google

Hello!
I have published several articles on issu.com, I have prescribed title and description meta tags.
None of the articles gets into Google index.
How to solve this problem please tell me, I noticed that others have articles in the index.

Issuu blocks a lot from crawlers, so Google can’t see the content. Meta tags alone won’t help. Better to host the content on a real site if you want it indexed.
 
Sometimes Google just takes its time indexing content, but it could also be that Issuu's settings or structure make it harder for your articles to get picked up. Try submitting your article URLs in Google Search Console and make sure they're not blocked by robots.txt. Also, sharing them on social media or linking from other indexed sites might help speed things up
 
i try to scan my article url on issuu.com with Screaming Frog SEO Spider, info: blocked by robots.txt, but similar users articles has blocked by robots in SEO Spider too, has indexed Google. should I pay attention to that?
 
This is a known challenge because Issuu relies heavily on JavaScript rendering and embedded content. Google often finds over 70% of the visible text difficult to fully parse and attribute authority immediately, seeing it as low-quality scraped content. To encourage deep indexing, you must manually boost the external signal: build at least 3-5 high-authority backlinks pointing directly to your Issuu article URL to convince Google to spend the necessary crawl budget.
 
Issuu pages often take longer to index, and sometimes Google doesn’t index them at all. Make sure your articles are public, share the links, build a few social or tier 2 links, and submit each URL in Search Console. This can help speed up indexing.
 
Issuu articles don’t index because Google can’t properly read their flipbook viewer, so the content stays invisible to search engines.
 
Check the canonical tag first; if Issuu points it to the original file or a non-public URL, indexation fails immediately. If the canonical is clean, the issue is internal authority flow. Issuu often treats these pages as low priority, so adding high-authority internal links from the publisher's Issuu profile home page can increase crawl frequency by up to 4x.

The main reason your Issuu articles are not getting indexed, while others are, is likely due to the Content Quality and Canonicalization signals.
  • Canonicalization: Issuu may be setting a canonical tag on the article to point back to the original source (which might be your main website or an internal Issuu page). If this is the case, Google will respect that tag and not index the Issuu version as it views it as a duplicate.
  • Thin Content: The article may be flagged as "thin content" by Google (low value/low word count), especially since Google’s recent updates are filtering low-quality content more aggressively.
  • The Fix: To improve indexing, try embedding the Issuu publication on a high-authority page of your own website and internally linking to the Issuu link from a frequently crawled page. This increases the authority signal to the Issuu URL, forcing Google to recognize it as a valuable piece of content worth crawling and indexing.
