How anyone can make a career out of writing articles online for people baffles me.

Iwriter - The pay is horribly low unless you get up to elite status and even at premium status 1/8 of all the articles written usually get rejected by leeches who want free stuff.

The special instructions sometimes are as long as the article which makes me wonder why they didn't just do it themselves -_- and the topics are usually on weird topics you could never imagine why people would want articles written on them.

Digital Point - If you can find someone who's not cheap or wants your free samples, then you win the internet.

Every one on here either A: never replies after a sample or B: wants to pay you horrendously low (not as low as Iwriter though) for articles.

Are there any non-shit sites out there to write articles for? I'm an American writer who can write over just about any topic and can complete work blazing fast.. but I can't write for chump change like the people on IWriter or DP.

The majority of business like this is done in India and other countries where the money is more valuable.

    Which is sad but true..

Businesses in our country value quantity far more than they value quality.

    just my 2 cents:

try doing great work on some dirt cheap articles to get great feedback on elance / freelancer and have a good "presence", then jack your rate up to $20-50 an article.

keep your samples "open" on the internet with a professional looking page for you to show people, and don't do "free" samples - offer to do a few articles for a prorated amount if they need to see live work.

bid on as many jobs as you can, but don't fight for the work. Remind people you're there and when they're fed up with dealing with the crap they get they're more likely to come to you.

you'll get less people saying "sure" but you'll also get more qualified clients.

i can understand that it's hard for writers, however it's hard for people buying articles as well. You put an ad up and you get 60 replies. Of those 60, there's maybe 4-6 that will actually finish the job without having been hit by a car, had their village burn down, lost all power, had their mother die 3 times, and been conscipted into their country's army, all in the same week. Of those 4-6, 2 will have actually produced relatively unique content, and rest you'll have to fight with to get more anything more than rearranged paragraphs in the article. (I once replied "yes" to everybody who answered a listing within a decent shot of the price range, just to see what would happen.... )

I've been there, done that. I'm doing VERY well now, and am attracting some wonderful clients, with high profile sites. Just keep fighting, and keep giving out free work. If you're lazy and careless, go find a McDonald's and apply for a job there. If you can't bust your ass and MAKE it happen, it won't. ****My two cents as a successful AMERICAN article writer fetching $7.50-$9.00 per 500 word article, that has MADE herself successful.****

Dog eat dog world fellow, if your content is worth buying, you will find buyers. BUT you have to feed the cow before you can milk her.

If you don?t mind following insanely strict guidelines check out write.com. They pay over 1 cent a word and there is usually a lot of work available. However, all payments go through Amazon mturk?s system and they have pages and pages of strict format guidelines that you have to follow.

Also take a look at mediapiston.com. This site used to be good and regularly requested 150 word articles for $3. There are not many jobs listed on it at the moment, but in the future I think they will get more clients.

Never used iWriter, but I've found plenty of clients on DP who are willing to pay for quality articles. Most of the people there who are buying content are just as sick of sub-standard crap as we are of seeing sub-standard writers applying for jobs which are clearly marked "quality" or "native only".

I thought TextBrokers had good pay? I'm not American so I can't join TextBroker, but I was under the impression that it was the holy grail for quality writers.

I would suggest you to open your own blog and use it as a portofolio. You can earn easy 0,80-1$ for 100$ in most of the sites mentioned above. But if you are really skilled work a bit on your immage , put on something nice to use as sample, offer quality and ask for more money.

That would really be a headache OP. I think that's how the article writing business in the internet goes. Only a few clients can pay the exact value of your article.

What does DP stand for any ways? Sorry for the question but I see it posted all the time but not one says it fully.
