Thank you all for your replies. I have sorted out my situation
Um, that's too low. I have been writing on iWriter, and I'm around 4 stars so I can apply for $5 per article.. and I'm not even native English speaker.
I am a native English speaker, I get a lot of work everyday it's just that the work is so much that I spend literally all of my time doing it.
WTF is wrong with you? $2.50 for 500 words?
Sorry for the words but you are underestimating yourself. Try fiverr and/or odesk and save yourself the trouble.
When you're established writer over there, start a BST over here or other IM forums. If your work is good, people WILL shell out $>10 for the articles!
Thanks for the advice but I don't know if article writing is what I really want to do. I have tried fiverr in the past but I have had 0 orders! I have also tried a few freelancing sites and most of the time they pay even less.
Wow man, where have you been lately, there is many threads in "Hire a freelancer" where people are asking for native english speakers.
I haven't been browsing BHW much lately, I haven't had any free time. I spend all my time working and sleeping, I get no play time haha.
Man, try there, try craigslist.. Um if you want, I can help you find customers and you can pay me later once you start make money ok ?
Just start your service thread on DP with high rate. Then try with BHW good luck with your work bro.
shanna_doll add me on skype! My names in my info
Goto fiverr and look at the "buyer requests" section. Message each of them with your previous samples and stuff. You'll get sales like this. Don't stop messaging people. Getting a sale naturally has become harder considering the masses of people gig-ing everyday.
I understand your situation. I started out as an article writer myself working for a company before I decided I hated where I stood in life and how I did not want to be writing 8 hours a day for very little pay. I had a quota of 5000 words daily and was making roughly the same as you are. It was a terrible time but I would never be where I am now if I had not gone through that.
I always looked at my life and told myself this is not what I want to do and I have to fix it. I hated the fact that my work was making someone else richer; so I quit and decided that if I am going to work hard, it's going to be making myself rich instead of somebody else. I began my own article writing services and got paid much higher. I began getting bigger orders and started outsourcing to accommodate all the orders. I would always proofread everything to keep quality up.
Later on around the 4th quarter of 2011 I discovered BHW. I lurked and lurked and I knew this place had given me just what I had been looking for -- better ways to make more money. I don't want to get into all the details but right now, I am in a much more comfortable state in my life. I still do articles but nowhere near the quantity I used to.
My point is, there is always a solution: you just have to want it harder. So hard you wouldn't be able to stand yourself until you actually achieved what you want. Find something else, something better that you know you can do! Concentrate on it with everything and never give up! Expect to fail not once but several times until you get somewhere! Failure weeds out the quitters. You only truly fail once you've quit.
If you are curious as to what exactly I did, hit me up. I'll be happy to share the details with you.
You clearly cannot afford to compete with bottom of the barrel content writers in third world countries, or people scraping and spinning articles
You should approach web design companies and offer bespoke content writing at £2 per 100 words
Then later, go for the big guys - SEO agencies - 500 word articles at £100 per pack of 5
Stop working for other people and start your own service, if we work for other people we a just working to accomplish there goals not ours. Don't get discouraged, I to had a hard time finding my place in IM, but I finely did and it was worth the wait, you to will get there. Keep working hard and giving it your all, your rewards will be plentiful.
I don't know where to start in starting my own business? I Know that article writing is not what I want to do! I hate the fact that my hours of work is making someone richer and they aren't doing anything. I want to be like that person, on the top for once. I don't want to be at the bottom of the 'food chain'
And I'd like thank everyone for understanding my situation, it helps
Ho Ho Ho, please stop right there man, and never try to write an article for this price again. When i started IM long time ago, i occasionaly wrote articles for people and charged 10$ for a shitty 500 word article without any sense.
I think you should try to make a professional website and establishing yourself along with content marketers, then the $$$ will start to follow.
By the way if you are this good, try to charge 25$ per article Hope i helped, good luck.
With as much as you work, it sound like you have the drive to accomplish your goals. I wish I could tell you where to find your pot of gold, but that is something that you are going to have to find within yourself. Find what you are good at, and what you love to do at the same time. Turn that into your priority and find a way to monetize on that.
Thank you for your inspiration. I have tried and I will continue to. I have yet to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I fail to know how I will ever see it.
Actualy I am that guy on the top of food chain when it comes to writing and let me tell you something. If you think you will have good clients just cause you're a native writer you're wrong.
Look at me, I am far from being a native and majority of my clients are from native English countries. I am working non-stop in order to have my team of native writers employed every day. So, all they have to do is to receive my instructions in the morning and to deliver it till the end of the day.
I have to find clients, I have to make sure that my workers are answering mails, writing quality stuff, writing original stuff, delivering on time (every time), I have to think about their pets-sick parents-old PC's-high temperatures (and other "my dog ate homework" ) excuses....
So, being here is not easy and new clients won't fall from the sky into your lap.
On the other hand, plese stop writing for $2,5/500 words, you're fucking crazy. PM me some samples of your work, I might have something for you
