    Hi,

I have been making websites for a long time, over 5 years and feel I know a fair amount about SEO however one part of SEO I have never really touched on is writing articles yet 'everyone' seems to say you need to get writing articles for your back links.

    So, I am thinking about starting to write some articles for my websites but I have a few questions;

    1. If I write one article, where do I submit to? one place or many?
    2. Can I use links in the article or should I just reference once at the bottom?
    3. How many words? I have heard between 500 - 1500 which is best?
    4. How on earth do you decide what to write about? For example, if your website is about photo printing how do you decide what to write?
    5. I presume that I am not looking for hits, it's all about the link juice right?
    6. Is it worth the effort?

    Thanks

    1. If I write one article, where do I submit to? one place or many?

You should post your Article to Ezine with a link back on the author bio page. Then you should spin your article and submit it to as many other article directories as you can. Article Marketing Robot will work for this.

    2. Can I use links in the article or should I just reference once at the bottom?

Only put the link in the author bio for Ezine and more important article directories. Doesn't really matter which one you choose for the other directories.

    3. How many words? I have heard between 500 - 1500 which is best?

I would say that AT LEAST 450 words will work. Don't write a 10-page term paper though, lol.

    4. How on earth do you decide what to write about? For example, if your website is about photo printing how do you decide what to write?

Write an article that relates and uses the main keywords for your site. Don't just write random articles, make sure that they are in some way related to your main keywords. Also, try to have your keywords in the articles so you get the most relevant links.

    5. I presume that I am not looking for hits, it's all about the link juice right?

Unless you are trying to make money writing for the content mills, you really don't have to worry much about the amount of views your article gets. However, if your article becomes featured, your link might be placed on a higher PR page, giving you more link juice.

    6. Is it worth the effort?

    Yes.

Get Article Marketing Robot (AMR). It is worth it if you decide you want to venture into article marketing.

    1. If I write one article, where do I submit to? one place or many?

IF You are posting it on your site then dont put it anywhere else....
If you are using for backlink then you can use multiple times -- but then use many articles - not just one!!!!

    2. Can I use links in the article or should I just reference once at the bottom?

Article directories allow only as reference in bottom
    Blog Networks allow in Body

    3. How many words? I have heard between 500 - 1500 which is best?

400 to 600 words... why do you want to wast your energy with so many words...!!! no one loves to read long articles

    4. How on earth do you decide what to write about? For example, if your website is about photo printing how do you decide what to write?

I can ask my team and tell you !!! Writers find out 10 different things to write on one keyword!!!

    5. I presume that I am not looking for hits, it's all about the link juice right?

    Hits will come automatically

    6. Is it worth the effort?

Nothing else will work as this will ... 200% worth the effort

    1. Keep to a single topic.

Don't write articles in several different niches at once. Write 5 or 6 articles on the same niche. This way you will look like an expert.
    Giving readers confidence.

    2. Research.

Do all your research first, make what notes your feel necessary and use them when write your article. It may take longer this way but you will seem more of an expert.

    3. Don't Give Up!

Even if you don't think your article is very good other people will. The more you write the better you get and the more readers you get will lead to targeted traffic which ultimately leads to sales.

When submitting the articles - do you recommend linking directly back to the money site or just W 2.0 buffer sites?

After Panda, is it safe to use AMR to submit to hundreds or thousands or article directories? It certainly seems like an easy way to generate hundreds of anchor text backlinks, if it doesn't put you at risk of being de-indexed.
