Article Writers - How to Quality Check?

Hi,

I have been looking for an article writer on Upwork that is fluent in English and is good at SEO writing but since my grammar isn't that great as I didn't finish school I am a bit bad at quality checking. Apart from grammar what else should I be looking for these days?

It this example provided by the article writer? If yes, then I would double check if this was really made by them. The page you linked is a HQ website. If you are talking to an expensive writer who provided this as an example that is possible. However, if this was provided as an example by a cheap or medium-priced service, chances are they are lying.

While every client has a different perception of the "ideal writer", here are my thoughts on the sample you shared:

- It does appear to be a native English writer.
- They seem to have a casual/informal writing tone (depending on your niche this can be good or bad).
- I find their paragraph formatting odd with many paragraphs being one sentence long (good for mobile readers though - although it looks weird on desktop).

As for keyword density, I typically recommend 1.5% to 2%.

It was an example provided by the writer $20 per 1000 words.

Most people still live in 2013 and have no idea what quality content is, how to check it and how Google evaluates it...

Open your eyes already and look at the window. There is 2022 year outside! The main Google's criteria to check the quality of your site and every single post is your visitor. Goggle doesn't give a flying f**k on how many links you bought from "authority" sites. It doesn't care how cool your texts are. It could happen that a stupid text with a ton of errors, mistakes and bullshit, written by a drunk monkey will beat a supper-dupper ultra "correct" article written by a mega skilled copywriter for $1000 per paragraph.

Do you really can't see how Google works today? It's just spying on every your visitor 24/7. It knows that your visitor wants even before he/she started tp type a search request. Because when a surfer visits your site, Google knows him better than his own mom, wife and the best friend. Google watches what exactly a person do at your site, where he clicks, how fast he moves the mouse pointer, do he has a tremor tomorrow etc. Google knows which exactly article it reads, when and for how long he interrupts and so on. Google knows what video he watches, when and where he puts it on pause and what he does at the same time in other browser windows. Which comments he reads, posts etc.

So the quality content can not be measured by a ruler nowadays. If you want to make your content real quality - just make a surfer happy during his visit at your site. It doesn't matter what you'll give him there, just attract his interest and Google will notice that and give your page a boost.

I would say it's a little too cheap for the linked article. It's well-researched, and that itself takes time. You should try to ask the writer this: You send the topic, they write the first 300 words (intro + 1 paragraph) and if you like the quality you can work together. If you don't like the quality then you don't work with them.

BTW your English seems good enough. Adding to what @coltonc said: you should also just read the article without thinking too much about it. After reading ask yourself the question: If you pasted this article on a well-known website, would it look out of place or would it look similar to the content they produce?

Keyword density is the last thing you should be looking for nowadays

ty for the info I haven't dabbled in blogging SEO since about 2015 so I'm a bit out of touch
