Exactly right... give it some time and it will come back to where it was originally, or higher depending on how many links you build to it.

This sounds normal. Articles rank but don't stick around for very long. I once had all of page 2 and most of page 1 for my keyword filled with articles and web 2.0 properties relating to my keyword that I created. Alas, no more.
As stated above, if you don't give whatever it is the same amount of back links that other authority sites are ranking for your keyword, then you'll just fade.

Google index or rank new articles pretty soon but it also remove then or throw to lower pages very fast... Don't think that you lost your ranking, it was never yours... Keep working and google will not only index it again but will move in ranking again.

It's not the dance. Google gives article a good ranking because it sees them as fresh content. It assumes that you have something new related to this subject matter and thus puts it out there. Think of it more like a news release.
You can however make your article rank consistently with heavy back linking. The good part about article back linking is that you can go absolutely crazy and not get a sand box for it. Google seems to actually reward linking blasts for articles very well. I have seen Ezines sit at the top of competitive keyword with nothing but automated comment blogs, thousand and thousands of them.
