As someone new to all this, I've read that you shouldn't duplicate articles i.e. send unique articles to different sites. If this is true, does the article submitter software do you any good or penalise you?

I'm guessing it does you some good but don't understand why. Any explanation appreciated.

it's good to have different articles sent to different sites. hence it's better to get content composer or article spinner to spin ur articles so that you would have different articles to send to different directoriies

Spinned articles are essential for SEO purposes, so make sure they are at least 60% unique.
