What searching for your article title on G in quotes, what is the maximum number of search results. No matter what software I use, I only see about 25 results.

Are you trying to say that you think Google only indexes 25 of your submitted articles?

Because if you are, then that is a no. There is no maximum.

    Yes, it appears this way...

It seems if more were indexed, then the number of search results would be larger.

It seems if there is more out there, but no indexed, then it's not really helping for building links. It's more article marketing which is ok, but doesn't help increase the number of backlinks?

It seems if I submit it to 450 sties, I should get at least a couple hundred backlinks after a month or so?
