Article not ranking

Hey guys!

Switched my site to https (everything is fine fine with it) moved it to another host, and recently published a 4700 word article on it.

The article is indexed, but can't really see it popping up for any keywords on the 3rd-4th page. I usually see pages popping up on 3rd or 4th page after indexing with other sites.

The top page has about 3k, and a page on the spot 8th has about 3.7k words on the page.

Tried to go with similar keyword density, and LSI keywords.

Could this be because of the HTTPS and host switch I made recently or is the content bad and the Big G doesn't like it?

It's not about HTTPS, google claims to like it. See if you didn't over-optimize the article with the kw's you are expecting to rank for. If you are not building links to it, I'd at least point some socials to it, or try to give some authority with other off-page methods. You can try with another article about same topic and kw's, too, it's never guaranteed how google treats a page.

Will try to optimize it with WebSite Auditors TF-IDF checker. I will also write another article, and point 200-300 drip fed social signals to this one, see if it will improve or not. I am using WordPress!
 
Hey MrHusky, hope TF-IDF checker helps. The only thing is not to take every single recommendation literally. The algorithm does its part to pick up the best terms for you and give usage advice; but before making any changes to your page, remember that whatever content you're adding, it has to offer value to the user. In other words, don't try to use this as a way to trick search engines but rather as an algorithmic inspiration for keyword ideas and improving your content! Cheers!
 
If you have switched host, or changed any configuration files on the new server, perhaps you should try checking the IP address that was provided and see whether your site is hosted on a bad-neighborhood IP subnet or not. Of if the IP that was provided was blacklisted somewhere, etc, as that may suddenly make Google dislike your content due to the bad nature of the IP being used.
Otherwise, if those small things are all good, then simply point good authority links that has TF>25, PA/DA>35 would gradually help you up in the SERP over a period of time.

Dripfeed and social signals are the best methods. It will be rank. Check plagiarism after writing.
