Article Marketing?? Does it work?

Xray,

Thank you for your answer and showing me the post to read too at Earner's. You said:

I'm linking to the authority sites from my EZA articles author's resource box and then back to the EZA articles. Ex: If you have a Hub, a Squidoo lens and a Weebly, anchor text link to all 3 from your resource box (3 is the max number of self-serving links you can have in your EZA resource box per their editorial guidelines), then anchor text link back to your EZA articles from those pages using the article KW's your trying to rank for. Also anchor text link your pages on these authority sites together and make sure there are no holes in your linking structure.

For added juice to your parasite pages, set up accounts on MyBlogLog, Bumpzee using the KW you're trying to rank for as the name of the account and add your relevent Squidoo and Blogger URL's to your profile. I've had Bumpzee and MyBlogLog links rank ahead of the actual sites I added to those accounts. Another marketer hipped me to using Feedbite and Grazr to aggregate all my RSS feeds to create more backlinks. It can be very time consuming doing this, but well worth it.

Is there a reason you do reciprocal linking between eza to squidoo/hub/weebly vs one way? I guess w/o reciprocal you'd need another 4-5 to link back if you did as mini-net of one way right?

I did get an eza article back to page 1 by doing blog comments with kw as name but with certain kw it seems too spammy to use it as name. I have seen people do Harry - Stop Smoking Now in name field so maybe that is ok. I used c0mmenth*t.

In xt*me rank*ings and blog*gin l*ke a ma*dman , other authority sites mentioned were zimbio and 43*things for b*cklinks. I do find w*rdpress.com does well and ahead of some of my kw but it seems they do not like affiliate links or even at times a link to a site itself and easily drop sites . I use RS*Sumbit and will look at feedbrite etc.

Do you find SB is just short-term or do you use that for backlinks? There are dp for 4 dollars that will do that. Not sure if it's just a quick booster though. Did also a dp article submission and am testing that. It is a lot of work as you said but I guess some can be outsourced. Thanks and I'll be at your blog often

My thinking was each page would benefit more (from the authority status given the main domain by Google) by being part of an interlinked network than it would from a series of one way links. Someone else may have a different opinion.

I did a modest rewrite with better KW placement in the article + my network + pinging the URL/social bookmarking when the article went live again. That article is still above the fold on the first page of Google for a very competitive search term.
