Great tips but I see these 3 items quite in contrast with each other. If you say that KD must be 1% of the total word count, then you will have to place you keywords intentionally. If you don't place them intentionally then you may go below or even beyond the 1% threshold. I think that keywords must be placed intentionally, but should be made to look as naturally used as possible.
Tip #8 is also a but vague. How proper? IMHO, anchor texts should be intentionally made to look as natural as possible, just like what I said above. So using more naked URL and brand anchors are recommended.

it is really very useful for beginner....you have mentioned that keyword should be 1%...when i write article i used to keep key word in head tag and two time is h2 and h3 tag.because it the way to show to Google, the article has relevant content..if i do keyword density will be 3 or 4%....is it good for my article or it is bad?
Also, "Top X Facts / Advice / Myth / Questions / Problems / Issues" type articles work.
You can also transform 1 article into many... when you're in 'THE ZONE' (aka 'the flow') you can rewrite that article into a few others, by rewriting each paragraph & header...
You can combine this with content knitting. You basically write your article in a spreadsheet concentrating on writing sentence 1 as many times as you can, then sentence 2 etc. It's less mentally draining and you can see where you are. Your brain kind of does it automatically, your thinking about how to phrase the sentence anyhow and your brain will come up with a few on auto pilot, just record it every time you think of one. All of a sudden you written about 5 completely unique articles for the price of one. Then there are services out there that will run your spreadsheet through software and spit out the articles.

I've watched videos where Matt Cutts laughs off the obsession with keyword density. He then goes on to say that (and I paraphrase) "the first few times we see a word we think oo that's interesting, by the 5th or 6th time we see it we think meh, that's boring. Just as a human would get bored if they were reading it. We do start to grade you down slightly for the overuse". I'd suggest no more than 4 times and support those keywords with synonyms. I'd also make a list of industry specific terms that you would expect an authority on a subject to use (even if the public are not searching for them). And tick them off like bingo. Eg. If your article is about waste management and all the authority sites in that niche reference "the waste hierarchy" or "environments agency". It's likely that G will be measuring you against the big boys in your niche.

The truth is spoken here. I find that the best articles are generally the ones that you could easily imagine being spoken to you in a legit conversation. Keep it organic and write tight.

Well, I would like to add something over here. A junk of long, long paras gets so boring to read, no matter how good quality pieces are they. A writer should even focus on many other things.
- Add subheadings, so that it gets easier for the readers to get an overview of the whole para, even without going reading in depth.
- Choose proper fonts and sizes. The justify alignment will make it look like a masterpiece.
- Add bullet points wherever necessary.
A nicely formatted article will help a writer, to make his/her own status in the reader's mind.
