Article links still work - they just need to be from decent sites and point to useful content. I mix them in with other link types so it looks natural, but they’re definitely still part of a healthy backlink profile.

Yes, but only if they’re quality. Article links help with relevance and branding, not spammy SEO. Low quality ones are mostly useless.
