Hi there, I've read that getting your link in an article on the home page of an authority site (like a news site, etc.) is better than an article hidden away in a subdirectory like a contributing author's blog directory.
That makes sense to me, but here are my questions:
Thank you!
That makes sense to me, but here are my questions:
- Most articles on the home page of a real authority site only stay there a few days, or even a few hours for big news sites. What kind of "change" in link power does this drop create? Does Google say "Oh, they were on the home page for a day, so it is still really important, so I will still give them full credit even though they've dropped off into some subdirectory." Or does Google say "Oooops, they were on the home page for a few hours, but now they're down in some directory, so they won't be getting much link juice from me!"
- When looking at statistics for websites, most websites have a domain authority that is significantly higher than the page authority of any single page, even the page authority of the home page. That being said, does it really matter if your article/link is on the home page? Does Google give special consideration to a link on the home page, even if the page authority of the home page is significantly lower than the domain authority?
Thank you!
