I was doing some reading and some dude stated that articles don't necessarily have to be long to get SEO results.

So...i'm thinkin (dangerous) and thought about all the time that goes into writing SEO blogging articles.

What is the best length or number of pages for writing articles for SEO ?

From what I've read and the few tools that I've used, 500 seems to be the preferred number of words. But I've also seen people selling written content for 300+, so I'd like to know too.
 
yeah...i've seen results from those with less than 300 words too.
 
Most article submission sites have a min/max word count. Abiding by this, and making sure the first line of your article is keyword rich will help.
 
Are you asking for how many words your aticle/blog should be
I go by the rule of 350 minimum and anything above is a bonus
a blog is suppose to be informative yet interesting to read
so don't stretch on too long trying to get more words -
keep it simple and let the SEO do the rest of the work
 
who are your writing for? Search engines or your readership??

if it's for search engines then the more words the better and I mean 750+
BUT if you are writing for proper readers and visitors to your site then 300+

you have to use a different writing style for who you are targeting
 
I prefer 350-400 words for blogs I update daily for my visitors and about 700 words for blogs I update every 10 days just for the sake of it. (Big G loves it)
 
post should be at least 300+ words
When someone comment with some useful text, it will rank better
 
All depends on what type of website the article/content is on. I usually go for around 500-1000 words if it's a blog. Things like product descriptions I usually go for around 300 words on ecomm stores and I have articles around 2000 words for info sites.

i know mate the stress of writing articles when you not only have to think about your niche site readers but for Google as well.that's why i quit writing a while back :D.anyway the best approach in this situation would be to create an article with at least 400 words length & try to sprinkle those targeted keywords here & there without stressing too much on the SEO!i mean ultimately we create those sites for our traffic & if we just ensures some quality rather then thinking of making quick bucks then we will be surprised sometimes with the outcomes :).
 
If you are trying to gain authority & trust, I recommend trying to shoot for 800-1000 words. Be conversational. The search engines will pick you up more naturally than those who just go for SEO.

Google is cracking down on what is considered SEO riddled content.

If you have a hard time getting good content, there are some solid writers on a few places that I have experienced. Sometimes, I get tired and bored of writing so I do casting calls & get exactly what I want.

It's not hard to get quality content considering the economy is tanking so everyone is doing everything they can to regain themselves financially.
 
350-500 words article is a good content for SEO with proper placing of keywords as well as it's density.
 
I shoot for 500 because you can't really say anything of worth in 300. And everyone else does 300, so its always safer to the push the bar. You can send more on-page ranking signals with longer posts anyways.
 
750+ words for the article. Also I listed the tips that SEOpresser give out so keep these in mind as well.

You have H1 tag containing the keyword
You have H2 tag containing the keyword
You have H3 tag containing the keyword
Optimal keyword density is within 2% to 5%.
Need to have an internal link to other pages on moneysite!
Try to add an external link with Keyword as the anchor text.
