I am planning to create an article directory soon, i want it to be private, not funneled by article marketer or such, i have enough content to fill it with original articles to be indexed and ranked on google.

I have had a look at article dashboard and articlems and i was not satisfied with them. I am planning to purchase article friendly soon.

Did anyone use it? Any feedback? Are there any other better scripts out there? Should i bother to make a custom one, or these scripts are good enough?

Article directories owners are cordially invited to express their experiences:DD

    Thanks btw.

Nick, from my experience, ArticeMS is very good for an article directory. We can customize it as much as possible... Nothing encrypted.... I am using ArticleMS for some 6-7 sites... I am greatly satisfied with it... There will be a "powered by" line, but if you pay money for the license you will get the permission to remove the line...

My programming knowledge is only <hr> and <br>... I did many customizations with this little knowledge... Imagine, then a programmer can do wonders with this script...

    My vote for ArticleMS!!!

I had looked into several article directory scripts and finally decided on using Article Live. It's a pretty penny for the script, but none of the code is encrypted, so you can modify anything you wish to suit your needs. The script comes with about a dozen different templates to pick from, or you can make your own and the script will automatically adjust to accommodate any new template so everything looks clean. There's a blog and news section, and of course RSS feeds. It has an adsense module built-in, so you can earn revenue with relevant adsense on each of your pages. And it is compatible with content sites like iSnare and Article Marketer. I hope this helps you out.

Yeah, you should purchase article live. Only a small sum of cash, nothing huge...

It is not about the money, it is about the usability. Have you used it personally? Does it have a lot of features?

So far, i am still heading towards article friendly or a custom made one-probably the last one.

Yes, I do use Articlelive. I has alot of functionality and is much more easier to customize to suit your needs than packages like Article Dashboard. I haven't used Article Friendly, however I believe the developer of it was once a mod for Article Dashboard.
