I have a domain related to yes another article directory site and I was halfway
through getting her done when I thought why I am I doing this. So my question
is are article sites worth mess with? All comments welcome.

Yes trying to, there is more to it than I had planned on.

This is how it works with everything....

Starting up massive, long-term projects can be extremely difficult. In all honestly, releasing a program or eBook is much simpler than is starting up any kind of continual maintenance style endeavor.

For instance, I run a proxy topsite that takes tons of promotion, more so than my software, AC Mass Submitter. While they are both profitable, my topsite requires a TON of promotion, whereas with the ACMS, all I have to do is be sure my affiliates are paid and the program is running.

The thing to take away from this however, is persistence. If you start something, finish it. I was getting just 20 people a day coming to the topsite at first, but through persistence and self-motivation, I've increased daily traffic by about 18x. That's nearly 350 people a day. When this number grows, everything grows. The only thing that can make it grow though is hard work and dedication.

Article directories may require a lot of work to start up, but once you get over this "Do I really want to go through with this" stage, you'll be banking.

Finish what you start, I say. Keep going! :)

Thank You Danny Relic ok I'm going finish this project. I just got thinking about all directories
out their and is worth it. I'm going to plug along until the website done thanks again.

No problem. Keep us all posted! It's nice to keep a public log of what you've accomplished. This way we can keep pushing you to finish.

:)

I agree, I'd really like to keep track of this project as well Nester. We can help push you to be the next Ezine's :)

Hello redtide1969 thank you for your support I'm probably going to need it.

You're welcome Nester, before getting started did you do a bunch of research to see what the possibilities are with directories and what the projected outcome could be?

No I bought the domain just thinking it would be a good one before I found out about researching and what not.

It is thearticlespot.com

That's a good one. (I hate URLs with "-"s in them.)

What's your progress so far?

This thread got me going too..... I have a domain, plugins, and a theme ready to go just needed the time.... will get to it tonight

any updates from anyone? I got the basic site framework set up, it still needs some personal touches but a good start I think....
Code:
hxxp://CustomMadeContent.com
Still very plain but the base is in place... anyone else making progress?

First off, you don't need to put hxxp in your URL. It's your URL, and on top of that you've enclosed it within
Code:
tags, so the SE's won't spider it anyhow.

That put aside, I'd say focus on your content now. You can change the template as you go to test ad placements and what not.

It's looking good whodi...I would check it back over for some grammar punctuation issues, but besides that it's coming together nicely.
