I get an invitation over Skype from someone who was asking for some samples of a drop shipping store.
So i sent him the samples. Right from the beginning the guys tone was that of a total frustrated, loser. He was confused, he thought he was getting 5 sites all while being rude I answered his questions calmly telling him only 1 site I offer. But, I knew something was wrong with this guy.

Fast forward to this evening, he messages me saying he's ready to buy. So he buys my package which was about $399. He immediately starts listing all the niches he wants, under the impression he was getting 5 stores, when I already explained this to him.

He starts mega complaining how he doesn't see how i can possibly deliver any value at the price, he even gives me his phone number to call him so he can give me a piece of his mind because I was being a "Keyboard Warrior". It was 12am, i wasn't going to call some moron i don't know, and start talking about a drop shipping store.

TL;DR: I gave the arrogant, frustrated ahole a PayPal refund. I told him "I issued you a refund, I don't want to work with you". The moral? Sometimes no amount of money is worth working with certain people.

I should post some screenshots....

Wait you knew he was asking for 5 yet you allow him to purchase for one?. For a very long time I’m tempted to write a small guide in which case buyers should ignore the seller, but I’m not really sure if it’ll be allowed here

No. You are incorrect. I explained everything before he purchased. I made sure he understood it wasn’t 5 websites I was offering. He then placed the order via my jotform.

This is one of the main reasons I'm aiming for zero client interaction.
I tried to explain this to one of my friends whose a freelance IT person. He said he thought £75 per hour + VAT might be to steep to charge. So I had him write down all the phone calls and emails and nobbing about outside the work spec and see what your actually earning per hour.. it was about £15. And the dummer the client the lower the hourly rate worked out at.

You just have to dump a client sometimes. Just not worth the time and effort.

Sometimes the money just isn't worth the frustration.

So did he get to keep the store? I wonder if that was his plan all along. Maybe he has a system where he just buys things he can keep them asks for a refund.

I had a guy recently send me $300 for a product/service that was clearly marked $1000. I suspect it's a strong-arm tactic to extract max value from desperate sellers.

For a lot of people in the world right now, $300-400 is a substantial sum and could be the difference between buying groceries / paying rent / etc. this month. When you're in a desperate situation and suddenly there's money is in your account, you'll do almost anything not to have to refund it - even if it means selling for less than market value or working for less than you normally would.

Firing douchebag clients that have their heads up their fucking asses, it feels so rewarding...

If I even get a sent that you are a douchebag no matter how far we are in the project I refund and fire you.

When I started out I have dealt with my fair share of morons the moment I could, I started mass firing them.

I will only work with people that I enjoy to work with and that leaves a lot of money on the table, well other people need to eat too, I guess.

@OP You did the right thing.

Thanks for the responses guys, it seems like a lot of us have had dealt with similar situations.
Never for a second think "the customer is always right" is always true.

Yeah, it amazes me though the attitude in which these people present themselves.
How can you expect to make any progress?

Over 10 years of my journey i have lost money in 4 digits ,even today i prefer to refund instant then dragging it and fighting with them ,most of the time they present very very low level lie in paypal resolution center or post baseless evidence which will make you anger and post rude and they will use it as milege.
Even if they dont scam ,their attitude towards you sometimes will make you piss off they will act like they own your entire company and what you guys were doing you could have done it .
I personally get very affected emotionally when i lose a big chunk of money but it is worth to let it go sometimes because your health and peace not only matters to you ,but for the people around you and family .
For that only we are working hard,so when i get rid off abusive client i feel very happy that i dont have to deal with it.
