I bought an FBML code from him a while back for $150. I was happy when I received the code, but once I set things up and put it up on a page, I realized that it only worked properly in IE, but not other browsers. I then realized that he also gave me the wrong JS code with it. I e-mailed asking for a refund (was even willing to give him some money for the time...but fuck that now) and never received a reply. He did reply to paymate, and told them not to authorize my refund though.

Just thought I'd let you guys know about this. I'll probably just get my money back with a CC chargeback tomorrow, this guy doesn't deserve anything from me anymore.

lol this guys been online, and still hasn't said anything about this, I advise everyone to definitely stay away. I've been busy and haven't got a chance to do my chargeback...hopefully things go alright when I do it tomorrow (paid with paymate...will there be any problems?)

    Thanks

My first mistake was selling complicated code to a newbie that new little to nothing about JavaScript and HTML nor Facebook marketing nor Facebook Applications.

I demoed my working version of the software prior to payment. The customer was satisfied with the product. I then sent the raw code to the customer.

The original deal was for the code only. Then it became apparent that he had NO idea about how to actually use it. And I mean none. He couldn't even locate where to alter the most basic text (h1 tags and alike).

I then spent 2 hours going through with him how to set up a Facebook App, and tailor the JS/code specifically for his app.

When I left him his code was working correctly and was already generating fans.

The only reason why the code would not have worked correctly is because of his sheer importance, inability to learn basic JS/HTML and recklessness.

There is no requirement for a refund nor any special consideration (as he has already had an excess of that) for this customer due to his incompetence. Nor do I really feel a need to be explaining myself on a public forum specifically in a thread called 'aReJay took my money', because 'YES', I took his money, and in exchange provided the agreed upon service and more.

    Cheers
    aReJay

This kind of shit pisses me off, you're clearly fucking lying right here.
First of all, before I paid you, you did say you'd send me instructions to set it up (little did I know you didn't have those either, and you had to tell me what to do over aim?). You told me you're code is better than the original CTRL C script, yet its no where as good. I don't even remember being shown an example, but I'm not going to say I wasn't...if I was though, it was viewed in firefox, the only browser in which it worked.

And wtf, I started generating fans right after you left? You said you had to go do something, and would be back in 15 mins after it was setup, but you didn't come back till nearly 2 days later...At which point, I still did not generate any fans to the page because of the POS code (why would I promote a page with a code that doesn't even work in the most popular browser).

I had no idea how to actually use it, and couldn't locate H1 tags? Again you're talking shit there again...I did everything you told me to. I told you I was no coder though...but wtf, you're I couldn't even locate the text that I needed to change? You didn't spend any time to tailor my app to me, you just told me how to do it. And 2 hours? LOL, that was maybe 30 minutes man (thats why I said I'd let you keep something for your time).

Now apart from that, the JS code you sent me wasn't the right one either...not sure if you were to stupid to know that, or what, but it was the old JS code that I already had, and was not meant to be on these pages (all it did was auto invite...wtf is the point of the CTRL C script then, if the user himself doesn't even like the page? lol)...

In ability to learn basic JS/HTML? Yea I told you I wasn't a coder, but what was there to understand? I knew enough to make the simple changes required.... I even talked to a reputable member here (mod in training), who told me that the problem with it was within the CSS template so I'm not sure how you're saying it was my inability to do anything (again, this is apart from the wrong JS)...

Then you go on to tell me that I'm a newbie that knows nothing about FB marketing? lol...

You're seriously just a joke bud.

So wait... which browser does it work in? Are you lying here? Or muddling up your facts? Not trying to take sides but there is already an inconsistency in your story.

My bad, only worked properly in firefox, not IE. Well really it didn't even work properly in firefox when you factor in the wrong JS code...

I bought this code a while ago and never used it for the reasons stated...just gave him some time to reply to my e-mails (which he of course never did).

Hmm, chargeback seems to be a lot more complicated than I thought? They're supposed to fax over some documents for me to fill out, and I need get all of our conversations, attempts to get the money back, etc....is it always like this?

w.e though, once I get the fax, I'll just fill it out and send it back to them.

I am not calling aReJay a scammer, because I honestly have no idea whether he is or not. However, I always thought it was kind of odd that he has posted at least twice (maybe three times) in the FB section concerning the need for beta testers for his FB application(s). Shortly afterward, he disappears from his threads as if he never posted them.

Does this make him a scammer? No. Does this sound fishy to me? Yes, but that is only my humble opinion.

@adrien23: I know you are a top-notch guy, and I will take your word over aReJay's any day of the week. I also know you are not a newbie by far, and I hope everything gets sorted out ASAP.

NOTE: Just because I am more familiar with adrien23 rather than aReJay, this does not mean that I am labeling aReJay as a scammer. I just know adrien23 is a top-notch guy and I wanted to post a reply to this thread with my thoughts, that is all.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the support :)

Honestly, I never persued further action with this though. I called the CC company, and they wanted proof of me trying to get my refund, our convos, and all the details of what happened. I mean I thought it was going to be a simple process...I ended up just leaving it alone cause the amount of money isn't worth the time.

But since this threads been bumped, does anyone know how to easily conduct a chargeback without having to go through and provide all the small details?

    Thanks
