Are you truly happy ?

We moved out of a house we had out grown a few years ago (4 years ago this October) the house we are in now is just a stop gap while we get planning in place and have our next house built - I didn't think id be "happy" till then.

But after living here for a while, making the house a home and settling in. Id say I'm happy, wife is closer to her work which is the main reason for the move she can leave the house later, get home earlier, we are out in a small valley town with nothing around life is much slower (or id prefer it to be slower again and have NO one around either) Kids have friends localish to us (10-12 miles compared to the 38miles before) and some of them live local as well!

I'm happy IF we never get to build our house or get planning approved (taking f*cking ages) then that's OK my wife is happy, my kids are happy, I'm happy. Life is just good. No complaints from me.

If you're happy before you retire, it means you're finished. I think I now have more than what I wanted 5 years ago, but its stuff that I wanted 5 years ago. What I want now is a nice 20 million dollar mansion on the Palm Jumeirah and a couple of Bentleys and an Aston Martin :D

Reading the comments, Isn't it clear that we are all suffering? Why do we have to suffer? 'Because that's a part of life,' some might say... Why is that apart of life? Is there a way out of this pain? If you are asking yourself these questions, you are seeking the truth.

Yes, happiness can be very relative, sometimes you might be happy with your whole life or just little things, and like everything happiness is temporal.
But I do everything to be satisfied with myself and thus be happy as much as possible :)

Happiness comes from contentment. If you're satisfied with what you have, you'll be happy. Don't be greedy, envious, jealous, or bitter. That's the secret to happiness.
