With Aug 3 FAQ schema update google has literally banned faqs schema.
But are you still adding FAQs to your blog posts?
Is it ok to add FAQs(not FAQ schema) to the blog posts or it will hurt rankings going forward?

I had stopped on clients site since last year there was a slight recovery and then it made no difference, so you need to try and see
 
For an well-researched long article, I found the FAQ section a good idea (something like a tl;dr). Where I do not, is in the case of an 800 words article, where the FAQ section have 300+ words (only to increase the content size and to repeat some keywords).
 
To me it's making no difference. There was a dip in traffic which is since restored, rather for the sites where I removed the FAQ altogether the dip in traffic has been permanent. Got played by Google:D

All right guys, so business as usual just don't use faq schema markup, I guess, just h2-h3 or h2- paragraphs.

Exactly what I also concluded, just avoiding the schema now but only plain FAQ at the end of article
 
Where did you read that Google banned FAQ schema? Most of the snippets are STILL question based. From where come these false claims?
 
I don't know if is me but I don't like the idea of putting FAQ on a serious site.

If I should see it on any blog I always hit the back button cause I see it as an advance paa website.

Such make me loose reputation for such site. Cos I can sniff from afar a webmaster trying to compete with my IQ.

Just focus on the user experience. Does the article really need a FAQ? Then add it, if not, then there's no need.

For example, most of the product pages will need a FAQ since the user needs to have certain questions answered, but for general informational articles, a short conclusion will suffice.

It wasn't until I got to here that I copped people mentioning schema being banned for FAQs, I was thinking while reading to here whether people were going to stop using ACF for FAQ sections and just start using markdown... Does that mean that this is the only route now?

And in terms of people mentioning user experience, TattooedBuddha has me fierce intriguied by the likes of tables of contents, references, in article CTA elements, and even FAQ's - I think things like FAQ's are essential for user experience... FAQ section can work great for interlinking articles.

Does this count as improving the quality of crawlability throughout your articles and website as well as improving user flow?
-Would this effect rankings much? I'm still yet to see or comprehend any stats at all... Have nothing to base anything off. :cool:

I never added FAQs to my articles because they felt very spammy to me. I try to write long paragraphs in which I incorporate the common queries directly.

I plan to add FAQs (not the schema) to product review/ buyer guide articles in the future.
