So, in 2024 what is better for a new site a number of links with a DR of 20, traffic from10K or a couple of expensive ones with traffic from 100K and a DR of 50?

It's obvious to me that a couple of expensive links have no effect, has anyone else had it differently?

Focus on quality over quantity for backlinks. A few high-authority links DR 50+ with relevant traffic can significantly boost your site visibility compared to numerous low-quality links.

Consider a balanced approach build a mix of high-quality and relevant backlinks while optimizing on-page factors for best results

As for the new site you have to build quality links whether it has DR 20 with 10k and DR 50 with 100k all of these links will give you good Referring domains and will increase your trust and other site metrics

Why do you feel like getting expensive links has no effect, do you think getting links from Forbes, entrepreneur, and much more would not be effective?

Since it is a new site, we can start building decent-quality links, such as those with DR20+ and 10k traffic. Obviously, top-authority sites will be more expensive, but you can certainly acquire 10+ links with metrics of DR20+ and 10k traffic for the price of premium links. However, it also depends on your business type. If you are running a service-based website, consider using top-tier editorial sites to build a brand reputation and showcase your clients, which can help boost your site’s authority in Google’s eyes.

Of course, Quality is more important rather than quantity, This rule is never changed, But You must understand when it applies, a New baby needs sufficient time to grow like a boy, Your expensive things won't create any magic for that so the process will move on slow and steady,

So feed with your site, Media quality links little by bit and create more Powerful, For this time you must concentrate on not using any cross-niche link manipulation or something like that, The remaining will go smoothly.

Try to create niche relevant High authority traffic site. When you select site you have to analysis your targeted LSI keyword are rank on site or not. If you see that which site you want to get links that site already rank on google based on LSI or targeted keyword that would be great for your site. Also you can try niche edit backlinks. That's things are still working seo in 2024.

Quality over Quantity ,high-quality links get more benefits in terms of rankings and traffic compared to numerous lower-quality links.

Prioritise quality over quantity, but this does not mean you should only have highest DR links. Find the most reputable and most (likely) white-hat sites in your niche and look at their backlink profiles. You'll want to be going for something similar in terms of distribution.

Pareto principle is a good starting point - 20% high quality links / 80% random/normal links.

This sounds to me like it might be on-page quality factors that are dragging the site down.

Quality Links + Quality Site = Quality Outcome

If the links are good, but the outcome's bad, start by checking the site content, speed, structure.

Put quality first, when the web quality is good, the quantity will increase accordingly.

One link from the sites you mentioned above, will give a big increase in traffic? Of course not, it will only give a bunch of my money to the owner of the site forbes.

The traffic & DR are not something to fully rely on,

There's much more that makes the difference
Including from which page you're getting the link, the website & page OBL, the diffuculty of KWs ranking, niche relevancy, etc...

There are so many links farms used for selling & reselling links (supposevely guest posts) on websites ranking for high volume useless easy keywords,
Such website(s) linking to 100s or 1000s of other websites/pages including any type of BH niches & spammy ones just because you're willing to pay,
And many of them are actually just manipulating the DR/DA of the website(s) itself that gets a dozen of useful links at most,

You'll get much greater & longer results from a niche relevant PBN homepage link with 100+- RDs with decent link profile & very low OBL,
The same for a guest post from niche relevant geniune website(s) with decent link profile that's already ranking for some competitive keywords,

Just take everything into account, relying only on some numbers is a waste of money & will lead you to become an easy target for all of these scammers
