Are tiktok hashtags important?

Hashtags on Tiktok are not important so they are not part of the CEO's daily work. However, to categorize videos and quickly reach users when they search, adding hashtags to tiktok videos is also somewhat useful.

Based on my experience, its better to use more niche hashtags, rather than very broad ones like #fyp. But my purpose was to funnel the right users to my website, so if you have different goals maybe more broad ones would work better.

Jep, hashtags are still important. I use a tool to get the current trending ones in my email box every day and then create some content even when it is just to get some more followers and not the usually content for the target account. I check specific for trends in US as they might come over to europe.

Yes, hashtags still matter for the TikTok ranking. I usually add 2 or 3 to each video.

I think hashtags will help tiktok classify your videos. However, using a lot of hashtags is not enough. The proof is that there are many videos that do not need to use hashtags to still trend normally. Besides, now everyone's habit of watching tiktok is just scrolling through the newsfeed. And for tiktok to distribute your videos, there must be a lot of interactions in the first 24 hours. It's best to focus on the content of your videos. Using hashtags is also an optimal way to distribute videos.
 
Hashtag is necessary sometimes but not as important as we think, i have seen videos with over 500k views with no hashtags. But i guess the point of hashtag is to help carry the content to the view of those who really needs it, in terms of searching
 
yeah hashtags still matter on tiktok but not as much as before, they help the algo understand what your video is about, best way is mix 2–3 broad tags like #fyp #tiktok and then 2–3 niche tags that fit your content, don’t just copy paste the same set every time, switch them up depending on the video so you reach fresh audiences

TikTok hashtags are extremely important because they decide who actually sees your content. I’ve seen creators posting amazing videos, but without the right hashtags, their reach stayed limited.

Yes, hashtags are important to help your videos gain exposure. You don't have to use many.
 
The only thing that really matters on TikTok is how long you can keep someone watching your video, and if they end up interacting with it at all (like, repost, or comment). That's what builds your reach and gets the video pushed out. Imio, stuff like hashtags is totally irrelevant.

You are right, but hashtags are not irrelevant.
 
I think it's definately will be better with them than without, I’d mix trending/topic-related hashtags with a few general ones, and switch them up depending on the video. Using the exact same set every time doesn’t really help much.
 
Hashtags on TikTok are very important, they help AI distribute to users more accurately.
