Are tier links still important?

Like people running behind PBN and PBNs, so tier links like 2-3 really having some impact on rankings?

Suppose if someone is getting few cheap links as tier 2 does that help, or blog comments that is still being sold from last 10 years

If yes what sort of tier 2 links is your preference. If no, why ?

Yea tiered links are still important.
They help boost relivency score of the T1 link, generally I found more success with USG T2 links as google actually classifies USG content and that increases user importance score.
PBNs and Web2's havnt given me any noticable boost as a T2, they work best for me as a T1. I have also kept social links out of my campaigns, So i cant talk about their sucesses.

Yes, tiered link building is still quite effective.

Build your t1 links as foundational links. Treat them as if they're your money site.

Get them from real places such as other sites in your niche and social websites like FB, X, IG, etc.

Tiered links are highly effective because they pass authority and link juice to your money site, while also helping to diversify your link profile. The most recommended Tier 2 links often come from PBNs, Web 2.0 properties, blog comments, submissions, bookmarking.

Yes, it’s still a good strategy for link-building campaigns. Focus on building niche links for Tier 1 money sites. For Tier 2 links, use high-quality PBNs and social bookmarking sites manually.

The thing is, majority spammy type of links doesn't work any longer,
They barely get indexed, even if they do they won't stay indexed for long or make you rank, they can even get your page/website tanked,

The success rate from building such links and the ROI are simply not as worth as they were before,
Using decent links by building your PBN, buying geniune guest posts, etc... will get you more guranteed, better & long lasting results for almost the same price,

If you could build tiered links with enough quality where they could remain active,
indexed within websites/pages with low OBL, niche relevant with good authority,
then simply go for it, that will exclude 99.99% of the links sold or created by most of the tools sold nowadays

You really dont need tier links, its just a magnet to sell links. They wont get indexed like before. All you need is good quality PBN links or natural links.

If you are getting good quality guest posts you might not need tier 2 links. You may need it for PBN links which you are going to use as tier 1 links. For those tier 2 links will strengthen the authority if the tier1 links. By strengthen the T1 links, T2 links indirectly helps your main site!
