Hi everyone,
I just kind of fell into a gold rush and registered some .shop domains.
I have never done domainselling before, so I'm not sure whether all or even any of them are worth anything. NOTE: I'm not looking for offers, just advice whether I just wasted ~$450 or made a fortune ;)

wedding-rings.shop
promise-rings.shop
swimming-pool.shop
yogapants.shop
youronline.shop
your-online.shop

The last two are meant for small web design agencies. Three more are in German and translate to "youronline.shop", "your-online.shop" "wedding-decoration.shop".

If they're worth anything, where should I sell them? I don't really want to put them up for auction so I was thinking about Sedo - do you guys no any better alternatives? Should I install basic websites on them saying "this domain is for sale, contact me at [email protected]" in case someone stumbles upon them?

Kind regards,
Dan

Haha, well, they're approx. $ 50/y each, so yes. I'm going to use one or two myself, but would like to sell the other ones.

Good domains mate,
You can easily monetize these i guess.
And so easy to remember and includes the KEYWORD!
so yea, Good job!

Why didn't you look for better prices. One quick look and you could register each for $25. I'm sure there's better deals

That's a good question and good advice. I checked 3 (German) domain sellers and those were the best prices I found, so I went with them. Next time I'll do a more thorough research, I guess i was just in a rush.

$450 on these useless domains ? Serious or trolling ?

$450 is more for this domains, search for other options if possible.

Well to be more precise, I paid $0 for the domains, the $450 are yearly costs.

Thanks for your replies. Would setting up a ready-to-use ecommerce site increase the worth of the domains?

You could upload to flippa. Have a few friends bid on it a bunch of times until you hit the top sites or a whatever it's called. And set the reserve really high so they don't actually end up buying it if no one bids

.shop domains are no where near as good as .com or .net tld's
.shop tld's aren't worth it in my opinion and $50 each is way to much

They have no resell value for now because the .shop extension is new and nobody knows it, that can change in the future but no one really can tell you for sure what is going to happen.
In my opinion I don't think there is going to be much difference with what we have seen already with the now not so new extensions like .biz, .mobi, .info, etc.
How much would you pay today for wedding-rings.biz?

Sorry mate but If you are buying that domain for investing purpose, no one is going to buy it of you.
However, if you're planning to rank it and develop it then at least you got something going on there.
