I'm thinking of hosting prosper202 on one of these hosts. I will be doing cpa marketing with zip/email submits. I will be making lots of 1 page content locker sites.

http://hosting-review.com/hosting-d.../Top-10-Unlimited-Web-Hosting-Companies.shtml

Does unlimited mean that I can really send as much traffic as I can get to the website?

How do I choose which one of these hosts to use?

I'm not sure I understand why I would need a vps or a dedicated server to host the prosper 202 software if theses hosts have unlimited bandwidth.

no those are all affiliate links cloaked through a redirect

well all those links are either paid for or affiliate links :P
depends on how much traffic you are expecting on your sites.

you can start off with shared hosting and then upgrade to a dedicated server should you see a requirement for the same.

everyone has their own views/experiences on hosting companies.. my personal opinion- hostgator was ok for me. i have small sites hosted with very less traffic on it, no real issues with them yet.

"Unlimited" rarely means unlimited when it comes to hosting offers. Most of those hosts will have some kind of limitation built in like for example:
- unlimited traffic, but a limited amount of memory/processing power your site/scripts/pages can use. The limit on memory/processing power will then effectively limit the amount of connections that can be made and/or the amount of scripts that can be run at the same time.
- unlimited connections on a limited pipe.
etc

There is no such thing as unlimited. On shared hosting all users are sharing resources. Performance of other websites can affect the rest on server.
VPSs bridge the gap between shared and dedicated hosting, giving independence from other customers of the VPS service in software terms but at less cost than a physical dedicated server.
Dedicated is real deal.

Should you use VPS for prosper202? Well, many shared hosts (but not all I guess) have trouble with prosper202, because of SQL partitioning . Another problem could be excessive usage of resources.

Prosper202 is advising their users to use VPS. They are also recommending Beyondhosting, but their plans seem pricey: http://beyondhosting.net/Virtual-Private-Servers/Prosper202-VPS-Hosting/
You can get cheaper VPS packages.

The term Unlimited normally refers to unlimited files related to your website. You can't store or dump any other files in your hosting as a backup. Most of the companies do clarify that in their TOS pages.

I think you can pick any hosting as a startup, most of them offer 30 Day money back gurantee (If they don't offer a money back gurantee don't bother buying.). So if you don't like you can ask for a refund.

Like everyone said, it is just aff links.
I used many hosts and never has issues with any of them. (fatcow, gator, etc)

Ok thanks guys, I decided to go with hawkhost.com

I suggest to go with blue host. $147 for 2 years, if you change your mind.

Top ten hosting list is affiliated link. And unlimited space, bandwidth is not possible in the real world. Nothing is unlimited in the real world.

I would say so... They don't mention iweb or digitalone, which to my mind are really strong companies!

I recommend you to use blue host. They are unlimited in traffic and addon domain and everything is unlimited. There are many other reseller hosting companies that unlimited by cheap services.

All of these top 10 lists are jokes. The top 10 is going to be the 10 hosts with the highest paying affiliate programs... They've been the exact same lists on there for 10+ years.

Just like ecommerce, go search for the top 10 shopping carts... It'll always, always be Volusion, BigCommerce, 3DCart, etc.

It will never be a nice, free/low cost platform like OpenCart.

Take what these places say with a grain of salt and be wary about unlimited traffic. These places basically painted themselves into a corner with the term "unlimited" back 10-15 years ago. Offering unlimited services back then was easy because most people were on slow ass internet connections and data transfer wasn't as big of an issue.

Now they can't get rid of it because EVERYBODY is unlimited and if you're not, that will rule your company out for most clients (you for example.)

With most of them, unlimited means that it is truly unlimited... Until you start affecting the performance of other users. Which doesn't take much. Also, they do not allow many high BW services like file/media hosting.

With others it can be tricky. If you take Kimsufi/OVH as an example, unlimited means you are able to purchase unlimited BW. You are capped at 20TB and each additional TB is $1.50... See that? Truly unlimited. lol

You just have to search their terms to find out what unlimited means to THEM.
