I see a lot of these sites with directories on them and they look like expired domains that are simply being redirected to other sites.

Is there any money being made with these types of directories?

It's called 'Domain Parking' and there are several threads/methods about how to bank out of it.

This is called domain parking. I don't have much idea about it but you can simply look up more information.

I can find many facebook Auto like/comment and also backlinking scripts executed by accessing these domain (Mostly secured files from the domain server)

They park the domains and then redirect the traffic to other links. If someone wants one and they offer enough cash
most of the time they will sell them.

Definitely still profit in this business, not only from direct navigation domain names (with type in traffic) but from search arbitrage traffic as well. We currently have a good sized direct navigation portfolio that makes solid passive income.

Domain Parking Makes you money if you site is getting enough direct traffic for most of them domineers are happy even if it gives enough in a year for renewals
