Are there tricks to finding keywords in your niche?

I used google webmaster, adwords etc to find keywords and competition but can anyone recommend better ways to find untapped keywords in your niche?

Preferably looking for free options to search for keywords!

There are a lot and i mean a LOT of public tuts to help you find keywords. Use your brain, you are in the IM industry.

Honestly the trick to getting real long term results in a niche is to get to know the niche REALLY well and don't just target a small handful of "special" keywords you think you found. Gradually rank for a WIDE range of niche related keywords until you have a solid and wide general ranking that's low and THEN see which of those brings you traffic and slowly (SLOWLY) zero in on those a little more, while still keeping good niche diversity. This approach is NOT fast, but in a year's time you can have a large net of keywords and will find more gems than any tool can tell. May not be for everyone, but it has works amazingly for me.
