There are several websites that offer free subtitles. Among them, I could mention Subscene, which offers free subtitles for movies and TV series. Opensibtitles is also a great option, as it provides free subtitles in various languages and formats. Finally, I'll mention Addic7ed, which provides subtitles for recently released TV series. when i need subttile for my video i always fisrt use chat gpt for subtitle but if you are uploding your video on youtube you may be use Auto subbtitle version

Well either use the .srt and translate with ANY AI, or use the whisper model. However, if it's for series and movies, we're talking about a long process as the files are very long, the process it to convert .mp4/mpeg/mkv/any video file into an audio file, use whisper to write srt file, i guess with some development you can also write the timeline
I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
If you want something to put over a Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube Short video then there's a site called withsubtitles.com that burns captions into your videos. That means that they just become part of the video file. You can't turn them off. The tool gives you plenty of customization for the subtitles though which is nice.
Another option that gives you much more control would be to use Whisper.cpp to generate the subtitles & a tool like Aegisub to stylize them. This gives you actual closed captions (you can turn them on or off). If you use the latter you need to be willing to read a little documentation but it's quite powerful.

People are confusing downloading subs for movies with generating them for social clips. CapCut is fine for that viral look, but the auto-captions struggle with accents or technical jargon. I stopped using those web-based wrappers because they always hit you with a watermark or a time limit right when you're trying to export.

just use capcut or submagic for the initial captions, they have decent free tiers that work fine for short form viral clips
