We are launching sites throughout the Middle East.
It seems like a lot of sites are using subdomains instead of sub directories.
Is there anybody from the region in here, that might want to add a comment why this is the case?
Maybe they just think whatever(dot)domain(dot)com looks cleaner than domain(dot)com/whatever, I dunno, I personally wouldn't read into it too much if I were you
I'm not sure what you mean. Are you suggesting that users in the area might prefer different sub-domain setup? Are you asking how different setups effect rankings?
Search engines see subdomains as "different domains" . That's why subdomains get more traffic compared to folders on the same domain, on the short term.
