Yes, but don't just create them, try to maintain them, post new articles from time to time, videos, images, make updates, treat them like real websites and you will benefit. Otherwise, you can use them as T2.
 
Normally, it should work. I haven't tried it yet, but anyway, this is the way SEO has always been.
