Are the serps screwed for good?

Google is getting worse. The quality of serps is the worst it has been.

Checking some of our lost ranking keywords and the sites that are in there are a joke. It seems that Google puts trust in only a handful of sites and the same sites appear several times on the first page and 2/3/4th page.

Does everyone see this? It is as if a classifier has been put on these sites that even if they don't fit the search term, they are still shown regardless as they are favoured by Google

that's what they've been striving for, for years. But today's SERPs could be screwed by the current running update, I wouldn't draw any conclusions yet
 
That’s the update in progress for ya.

Mod April will be good time to draw conclusions.
 
This is temporary. You will see much better results till next update which should be ready in a month.
 
well not much we can do about it tbh... happens..

Apparently, this is it. Once Google trusts a site for a set of keywords or in a niche. The chances that said site would rank for many others is high. Sometimes even when other keywords aren't in the same niche.
 
I have been working with Google for more than 5 years) and for 5 years I have been reading the same thing on forums)) that Google has become worse, that Google has become stupid))

But this is not so)) Google is smarter than all of us combined)) and we will understand the reasons for the change in the results a little later))
 
No one has said Google is stupid. We have said the serps are messed up and geared towards high authority sites and they allow these sites to appear multiple times in search results

But google DID become worse :p (the SERPs I mean)
 
People also ask is the worst thing I have seen from a big company so far. They give an answer to a different, unrelated to answer question. Or it gives answers that are not full, so one time it said some disease gives 145 Celsius degrees or similar. It's so stupid.

according to my observations, Google is always several steps ahead of us)) but we also quickly learn to adapt))
I’m currently registering Google accounts) but it took me more than a year to understand its algorithms)
 
Some have concluded that Google will now trust certain sites by niche and will then promote that site up the SERP. It is however still too early to tell, but does raise the question of whether there is going to be an increased priority on DA/DR going forward, one thinks it might.
 
Lately, Google's algorithm seems to favor big name sites. But I think that means there is a gap in the market for narrowly focused, niche content that the big sites often overlook.

Yeah... maybe... until they close this gap too soon. It is not worth it any more. The time and money you have to invest is just too much.
