Robots race in Chinese half marathon​

Robots ran alongside humans at the Yizhuang half marathon in Beijing on Saturday.

Twenty-one humanoid robots, designed by Chinese manufacturers, raced next to thousands of runners completing the 21km (13-mile) course.

The winner was Tiangong Ultra, which crossed the line in two hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds.


Some robots completed the race, while others struggled from the beginning. One robot fell at the starting line and lay flat for several minutes before getting up and taking off.

The race had been billed as the world's first robot half marathon.

It’s funny to watch robots zoom past us and wonder if they’ll take our jobs someday, but when they mess up, like falling flat at the start, it reminds us they’re tools we built, not perfect and always getting better thanks to our ideas. Instead of taking over, this marathon shows how we can learn from each other, robots push what’s possible, and we help them get back up and keep going. So nope, they’re not taking over, they’re just running alongside us, showing what teamwork really looks like. Human+robots team work! ;)
 
Not yet—but they’re definitely warming up! First they’re jogging marathons, next they’ll be running for office. One tripped at the start, so we’re safe….for now.

several years ago I have read somewhere that a brothel had opened in Berlin (or was it Muenchen?? I don't remember) whose sex workers were all AI, so you might have missed the boat by a wee little bit :)

hi yes unfortunately human escape themselves from robot they like the technology but cut themselves from the world

Robots and AI will repalce most of the repeatative and time consuming jobs. New generations should be ready for the challenge and innovation.

Cant wait to make them my pets and pamper every day.. :)

My dog will surely love them, consider as game partners..
