Are the posts on my site really indexed?

I am just curious which one is correct. The GSC shows that my site has over 200k indexed posts but when I searched google using site:www.website.com, it only shows 100k indexed.

Am I missing something? Is the result on GSC incorrect or the site:www.website.com is the one incorrect/inaccurate?

both can be inaccurate / incomplete. Just use Scrapebox (if you have it) to check for real, but you'll need lots of proxies to check 200k URLs. Probably it will cost you few $100s a month just in proxies :D

EDIT: but anyway, to answer your question, site: is said to be the more accurate metric, so probably you have 128k pages indexed... And GSC is notorious for delaying data, so in a a week or two you'll probably see a different number

With all do respect, when there's a contradiction between a reporting tool and the actual search engine, go with the search engine.

Given that this is such a huge difference, I'd search for 100 random pages which are supposed to be indexed according to GSC. If Google search is right, you should see only 50 of them indexed.

site: is what goes.

GSC is greatly delayed in reporting.
 
You should trust the site: numbers

There is a chance that some of your 200k posts that were indexed got deindexed later and gsc is still not updated
 
200k post, I don't want to imagine the side of your database...
 
Please believe your site. Maybe your posts were index, later will be deindexed.
 
use tools like google search console to determine if your post are indexed
 
The search engine metric is the accurate metric. google search console delays data(this is out of my own experience).
 
you can Consider Search Engine data, cause search console now delays the Actual report. Or else you can use Screaming Frog For more details.
