Hi,

it may be a newbie question, but when you balance out your anchor texts for backlinks, is it better to put your targeted exact match keyword anchor text links on high page authority etc. sites? For example, if you have a few PR 3, 4, 5 etc. domains and many more PR 1, 2 domains, is it better to put your targeted keyword anchor texts on PR 4, 5 sites etc., or does it not matter? (Since it is easier to think please assume PR matters for the sake of argument. Pls replace high "PR" with high "PA/Da" etc. if you want)

In other words, does Google weigh the anchor texts on high PR (PA,DA) more to decide the ranking?
OR do they calculate link juice and keyword match separately?

Please assume other things are equal, like they are all from relevant niche sites, contextual etc.

Thank you.

Short answer yes - I would always choose your most relevant/exact anchor texts for your best/highest PR/DA links.

It's a good question though as it's not immediately obvious. My answer is based partly on experience and partly on theory/logic.

Yes if you have a good diversity of your anchor text than you should use your strongest tier 1 for the exact anchor text.

Thank you for your replies guys :)
