Hi guys,

I am trying to boost my channel without buying views or subs.I bought some gig on fiverrr (pro eminent seller) about social signals.I got quite many views from India :-( but not much effects in term of rank/subs/likes.

are these social signals still useful ? do you think these sellers use facebook/twitter to generate this traffic ? are they within TOS ? the channel is not monetized, is there a risk ?

any insights ? Thank you

Although G publicly stated that they do not use social signals in search rankings but in the past it has been using social signals as a major factor for SEO. G and Twitter joined hands to show tweets in real time search and have gained access to Twitter’s data feed to keep search results updated. That means they are using number of shares to influence google twitter searches.

Following a link through FB, Twitter, LI or any other social network to a website impacts as a referral or back-link and it does affect the G's algorithm. Social media still acts as a strong driver of trends. These trends effects the G's ratings and also improves your brand recognition and strengthens your in-field authority. The more hits your web site gets from social media, the more authoritative it appears to customers or collaborators.

You need to check if the signals provided to your channel are coming from genuine or fake accounts. If the accounts are fake, they will hardly give any results because the subs / likes made by them will go nowhere and revolve around those fake identities.

As for me, social signals helps my videos to get indexed fast. Other than that, none.
