After working with AI as a search tool I have noticed that for some queries IA gives answers and search engines show us people with the same question.

Will in the near future search engines be all like chat with AI not showing results but giving just one answer?

AI is not that much advance yet. So it can't be better than search engines.

No, search engines are alive and I don't think they are in near Future. Even If we use AI for search you will always want to know a 2nd & 3rd result you know.

A.i. can't tell you about something after 2021 so yes multiple people are still using search engines.

I think people prefer multiple results for most queries
Fact checking is a big issue

thing is AI can provide a lot of answers to general things, but not super specific and not super recent.

Heres whats actualy going to happen. I bunch of people, most in fact, Are eventually going to get implanted with AI directly in their brain. Search engines will exist but no one will be using them for 95% of questions because they will already know the answer. Scared yet?

Evolve or get left behind

For a lot of things, the truth is older than September 2021 :)
But ChatGTP still can't help you to get the PayPal Money Generator. You still have to search for that.

I have the impression that the boom in AI/Chat GPT has passed, of course there is a narrow group like marketers, SEOs, programmers, but 99% of the public about the latest solutions at most have heard, some percentage entered a meaningless question in the free version of ChatGPT.
Search engines are until they are in the hands of hegemons like Google they are not in danger of collapse, at most changes that have been and will be. Generation Z will make the difference, but that's a matter of probably 10-15 years, so we have time to make cash from SERPs ;)

It is hard to answer this question at the moment. Depends on how AI evolves.

I had the same question while I was budgeting for my cpc ads.

Search engine is basically a tool to seek answers.
I use AI, mainly chatgpt and Claude alot and they have helped me tremendously in answering questions. The more I understand how to use it, the more powerful it becomes.

There's less need for me to Google the answers I need as AI could answer immediately , it could also clarify my doubts if I've more questions.

Chatgpt just included using photos input.
I sent it screenshot of my Google tag manager page and it could figure out which tag is causing a conflict and asked me to pause it.

As AI gets more capable, search engines will become a less useful tool. It won't be dead immediately but I believe its importance will be greatly reduced.

Back to my cpc ads, I have a strong feeling that display ads and social media ads may gradually be more dominant as they are less eroded from the growth of AI. No doubt that Organic Google ads still provide the best conversion at the moment but I believe that there will be big changes to the landscape in the near future.
