Are recipe great niche sites?

I searched around the forum and notice a few threads that stated that recipe sites don't make much money, is that true?

This popped in my head while looking for dinner ideas. I came across several recipe sites, but one in particular caught my eye. This particular recipe had a shit ton of ads. Every other paragraph in the recipe, there was a placement for an ad and then a small video would also pop up. It was so bad that it made it difficult to browse on my phone. I eventually used that recipe for dinner, but how profitable can a site like that be with that many ads? Anyway i can find out how much this site would make?

I do love to cook and experimenting new recipes, so I am wondering if creating my own site is worthwhile..

Link to the ingredients and other required equipment on Amazon. Recommend expensive appliances when they need a blender or whatever for a certain recipe.

I know plenty of recipe sites which makes a shit ton of money. There is a one with a monthly income report of 80k. So this niche is viable, like every other one, you just have to figure out how to drive traffic to your recipes.

Thanks, i was thinking the same thing as well. If i am using special kitchen gadgets for my recipes, i will definitely list it on there.

Are there sites that provide these monthly income reports? i am curious the amount of traffic and ad revenue some of the sites I came across is currently getting. I'm guessing the traffic would come from social media and search engines..

You might want to check the mediavine network. They have a lot of food blogger types and specific recipe card ads. They might be able to give you an idea of RPMs etc
