Are Profile Links Harmful?

Do you recommend building legitimate profile links on high DA websites?

I have been building a few, using my real name, and putting something like 'Owner of website.com' in the bio/description box

Would you say that's a stupid idea, or are they decent backlinks?

I am going to build some tier 2 links to them because they are ********

Well it's an OK idea, but I don't think those links will do much for your ranking. They might get you known though.

Since they are D O fellow (Why is that word banned?) I was thinking of using them as tier 1 properties, and powering them up with some cheap PBN's, blog comment, SAPE etc

Well you could try to use them as parasites but not for ranking a specific kw, but for overall domain authority.

That's what I hope to do. They are straight URL, no anchor. Just some good old authority building (hopefully)

You have a solid plan just point backlinks to the profile page. Good for link diversity.
 
Profile links are fine.

Every type of link is fine unless:

1. You have a bunch of them. (does not apply to contextual links)
2. The links are on low quality sites.
3. The OBL is high. (100+)
 
If I remember right, some reputable members here posted about this topic said:

"OLD twitter profile link got very strong authority and can rank keywords "

Just in case someone could dig more about this.
 
profile backlink > web 2.0 > pbn

best for moneysite
 
it's ok for your moneysite to increase your authority
