Topic title says it all. I'm currently building my Tier 1 backlinks by manually posting comments on PR 2-3 blog type websites related to my niche with my website link in the Name/ID section. They're mainly blogger/blogspot websites with some other blog type sites. I'm finding it hard to find such blogs with auto approval (but managed to find a few). I have at least 3 placed and about 10 awaiting moderation now. Is this method the way to go, or should I be just submitting articles to Web 2.0 sites that link back to keywords for my Tier 1 backlinks?

Having a few is OK for diversity. Auto approve blogs have a good chance of getting spammed to death, so don't point them direct to your money site as they could become bad links.

A couple of comments on do-follow, relevant, high PR, moderated blogs isn't a bad thing, just don't go overboard, and don't just exclusively do blog comments.

PR of blogs should be starts from 4+, and mostly it depends upon the OBL of blog and quality of your comment.

I'll keep that PR in mind. I'm writing my comments so they are related to the content of the blog post and look genuine. I know spamming "Great article, I loved it," isn't going to get me very far.

I did high pr blog comment link building for 2 MNS sites. it has worked greatly on one of them boosting it on page 1 for 9 different keywords but not that great to the other which is stuck on page 2. As most people said look for high PR (page not domain) and low OBL and you should be on safe spot

good luck
