Afternoon,

In your honest opinion, how powerful do you think a blog will be, or even how strong it currently is considering:

- Its only been around for 3 weeks
- 3 PR 6 back links
- 8 PR 5 back links
- 4 PR 4 back links
- 5 PR 3 back links
- 1 PR 2 back links
- 88 PR 0 back links
- competing with 23 million other pages
- 1st page aveage page rank is 2

With enough SEO knowledge, some one could guess the strength of a blog, provided the details above. How long do you think it'll take me to hit the top 3 on the first page if the top listed page has only PR 0 back links.
How strong do you think i am now? What PR do you think Google will give me? When do think the PR big is coming around again? Give me your honest opinion please.

Thank You,

So I'm assuming those PR back links listed are pointing to your blog, could you give me a rough estimate of how many OBL's are on the top PR pages, I'd only be estimating based off the last PR date, seen as they like to change link juice factors almost every update.

P.S. I'm guessing these are all ********?

Yes the PR back links are pointing to by blog. I have approximately 440 back links..

Difficult to tell without looking at the actual pages you have backlinks on. PR may not flow or may be diluted. Can you send more info? Also what pages are you competing with?

Does a good portion of those 440 back links have your keyword in the anchor text?

there coming from technorati for the 6 and 5's and digg with the rest..
60 percent either have my title or the url as the anchor text...

The problem is your site will probably get sandboxed for a year or longer for buying links too fast. You may rank well for a few weeks but then p00f gone.

So about 90% of your backlinks are coming from digg?

Back links have less value individually if there are more of them coming from a specific site. Sure, together they may add up to a lot of value, but there's a point of diminishing returns. Google decides how much weight to give each link based on a lot of factors, including the PR of the page on which the link appears, and also the IP address on which the link appears. So to make each link count for the maximum possible value, you need to have links coming from many diverse sources. That is why Angela's packets are useful -- they give you many sources with different IP addresses to place your links on.

Interesting perspective.. I appreciate it..
Again, the bulk of my back links are coming from technorati and digg, both of which you dont have to pay for.. I dont believe ill be getting sandboxed when i receive over 200 organic visitors per day.. a small amount, but its just the first 3 weeks...
I guess when the PR updates come, ill learn a lot because I have several back links from different IP addresses..

its not just backlinks, you must also consider to hit the top if your page is SEOd and if you are better than your competitors. It's very complex. Read an ebook called Seo Mind Set available in the downloads section.

the amount of visitors you get a day doesnt mean you cant get sandboxed

Are the actual pages containing your backlinks PR 4/5/6?

Recently I threw my very best backlinks at my newest site (1 month old) and its on fire in the serps. In part, this is an experiment to see if clean, high power authority backlinks can maintain a top position without a sandbox period. If you get real, strong high power page backlinks with keyword anchors, and have on-site optimisation for a low or medium comp keyword, then - as far as my experiment is going - you should be doing fine.

I will post about whether this strategy = sandbox or not.

440 backlinks, 26 million results, try getting 10,000 more links and you'll be good
