Are plugins needed for Shopify?

Say if I am just using Shopify+Aliexpress, and I want to be able to easily import stuff from aliexpress over to Shopify?

Do I need a plugin to do that? And if so, is it free?

Yes you would need. In Shopify, those are called apps. So in order to import products directly from Aliexpress to Shopify, you would need Oberlo. Additionally, depending on your other functionalities, you would need other apps.

You can also use Expressfy to quickly add products to your store. It's not free, just go to their site to check their pricing.
