Are PBNs REALLY dead?

Only thing dead these days seems to be the concept of hard work.

if you know what you have to do they do work very well

Not saying it's by any means an "easy button" but isn't the whole essence of this forum catered to those who want the end results without putting in all the usual hard graft for it?

Yes and that's why most people on this forum are poor.

The only people making real money on this forum are the people that treat it like a job and put the hard work in.

Poor? Ouch, sweeping generalisation.

Would like to agree with you but it really isn't as simple as hard-work=money (Or a hell of a lot more people in the world would be rich), although I'm not disputing that is usually the case. There are plenty of members here who have made threads where they have been successful and made a lot of money with really minimal effort, it really is a case of work smart not hard (or as well as), and for me that is what this forum is about.

Nah they are not dead IF you do it correctly.

To do it correctly, you need to invest 100s of hours for every blog.... and thats why 99.9% of people are doing it wrong and wasting money + time.

Personally dont use it, since I simply dont have the time to run 12 websites. I'd rather build 1 brand than do that.

of course not. G is just smarter. Erase/minimize the footprint and just as good as ever.

maybe not dead but I don't get the same effect from mine as I use too=/

The highish profile bloggers that I read about who were moving away from PBN's were not saying that they were dead.

They had their networks hit, and decided that they were not going to use them anymore. The time and effort that is put into building a PBN can also be used for creating high quality content, manually outreaching for quality links and so on.

The decision to move away from PBN's was a risk/reward decision, and a personal choice. I am not aware of any credible report saying they are dead.

It also turned out that some networks that were hit had schoolboy errors such as the same WMT/Analytics ID's, or even a lack of WHOOIS privacy and networks on the same servers etc.

Disclosure: I don't have a PBN and don't plan to. :p

No PBN is live still..

Managing the Blogs with good quality articles and OBL wont get penalty..

No it is not - it is still a valid part of an SEO strategy.

K.

But it also takes a lot of hard work before mastering the art of working smart! You will always have outliers (hard workers who make very little or lazy people who strike gold), but in most cases hard work correlates very well with earnings.

If you are running a network or ACTUAL WEBSITES. - You know with a brand, real followers, real articles that add to the topic ect... then PBNs will still work.

However, the only way for it to be profitable to run X amount of actual brands is to sell links. And even that might end up costing you, if you get banned.

with other words:
it still works, but is incredibly ineffecive and hard to do.

Dead if you do it the wrong way,
no if you do it right way

Everybody who tells you PBNs are working is a big big liar.
They are so dead that they die each year. They are so dead like the internet.

I see sites right now on the #1 page for keywords similar to "personal injury attorney los angeles", "DUI Attorney orange county", "los angeles denfense attorney" and the such and many of them have some links a PBN. Keep in mind these are REAL law firms, real businesses, real brands etc... and PBN aren't the only back links they have; they have a very diversified link profile with links form many, many MANY sources as well as citations but PBN is one of them.. some don't have that many either; like just links from 3 or 4 PBN blogs... The PBN blogs are disguised as law authority blogs with law related sliders, graphics and all created by companies who specialize in seo for attorneys... some look really sloppy and crappy with shiet articles but some look like really clean with lots of posts with no links mixed in...

You can be guaranteed these law firms are paying at LEAST 1500 and some like $2k a month and up for seo services in a competitive market like LA or OC.... and its one of the most competitive verticals. Nowhere NEAR the same amount of competition for doctors, dentists... attorneys is just 10x more competitive from what I've seen... See tons of law firms on paid sites... like a PR 8 developer site where it says "thank you to our donors"... and its all law firms... lol

And I am willing to bet these lawyers don't give a damn if its PBN either as they can start out with a fresh site if banned... also most law firms/attorneys know a lot about SEO' they've been through 8-10 SEO firms.. There's one who knows more than most people who work for agencies and on webmaster forums... has some PBN and authority sites he created himself and his law firm site is a PR 6 (no SEO firm; he did it himself)... he is always posting on Matcutts blog as well as Searhengineland etc... has his own PBN blogs, authority legal glossary site with high PR etc...

I know all this by stalking their backlinks.

I also noticed some of the people who are currently in the top 3 for terms like "SEO San Francisco" and "SEO Las Vegas".. .all have a link or two or 3 from a PBN....

its all a few tho; not 30 LINKs... just a a few and they all have very diversified link profiles with a few from private blogs and a few paid links thrown in...

This leads me to believe that PBN's work if it's just a few links (you don't need 15 links).. just a few and make sure the link profile is diversified...
