    Hi,

I'm pretty new to SEO and Affiliate Marketing so I was thinking about buying a course.

Are there any tips with finding a legit course? I don't want to get scammed.

Asking because most of them feel so snake oil-ish.

    Thanks! :)

Plenty of resources, don't waste money on something you can get for free.

You don't need any paid courses. Blackhatworld offers everything you need for free. Just search through method and journey threads and tweak them to your own skillset.

I know some SEO, so I'm not completely new, but I feel like I'm lacking a lot of knowledge.

Thanks for the answers, BHW looks like a great place!

Lesson learned: I shouldn't let the aggressive internet marketing affect me. Everything can be found for free. I'm writing this down. :)

I agree that although you can get all the information on BHW and elsewhere for free. Sometimes it's better to have it laid out step by step, it can save you a lot of time.

Although ultimately you would need to do your own research, but it's a good starting point.

I can see the point of having the systematically organized info, but to me it isn't worth the money. I spent money on courses when I first started and there was never anything in them different than what you can can find online for free.

Take the money you would have spent on it and just try a method. You'll learn a lot more that way.

I've paid some money to a mentor. He gave me details on white hat methods to rank a website as well as a list of
websites to help in ranking manually. I had reached pagerank 1 following his method on a website with less than 100 words.
There are simply two factors that help you to rank, content and backlinks.

The best thing you can spend money on when it comes to learning SEO and Affiliate Marketing is yourself.

Seriously - you don't need to spend money on anything unless you are hiring people to work FOR you...

Not people to TEACH you. If you wanna learn - teach yourself. If you don't wanna learn - outsource the work.

Paid courses can be worthwhile, but it depends on the experience and knowledge of the instructor.
Many of the paid courses to be found on SEO are outdated or rehashed or designed to sell you on other things that you don't actually require.
If you are willing to put in the effort, then everything you need to know to get you started can be found on BHW.
Avoid the Gurus and Mentors, you can set up 2/3 websites for peanuts and start learning.

The udemy courses which I took were only rehashed standard knowledge. Thanks to BHW I didn't pay for them.

Paid courses are definitely worth it but you should be very selective and go into it with the right mindset.

No one, and I mean no one can give you a step-by-step blueprint to follow word-for-word for two reasons:

    1) You'll be getting a very cookie-cutter type plan to follow which is usually has limits as to how much you can really make following it. Big dollars tend to happen when you innovate.

    2) Every step along the way has nuances.

The step-by-step blueprints don't tend to be rocket science. It is all in the details, the nuances. How you write your ads. How you proposition your offer. All of these things are going to be unique for each campaign and so you can't really teach it. You learn by picking your niche and getting hands-on experience in the trenches.

I also understand that the courses feel like snake-oil. Forgive them. Legitimate courses have to present themselves in that way because the hypey-words make sales. There are lots of legitimate, helpful courses that hype themselves up and in the process make themselves look like snake-oil, so don't be immediately put off by that.
