Are Online Survey Referral Programs still Profitable?

I ve heard there were shortages and downfall of this online survey industry. Is that true? How is the situation now on survey platforms like Swagbucks and stuff? Are they paying to affiliates as before? I have a few projects in mind for this nihce so i ask. Thx.
