Are medium comp keywords difficult to rank?

Compared to low, is there a big difference?

I have a youtube video and I want to target a KW which has 4,000 Global Monthly searches, is it worth my time to pursue if I want reasonable quick results?

Make sure that you're not going by Google's Keyword Tool for competition info. Those are for adwords competition.

Also be sure to check the [Exact Match] check box and uncheck the [Broad Match]

There are keyword competition/analysis tools.

Check with two or more tools to find out the exact analysis. Most of the time, we are going after keywords, which are only targeted by adwords advertisers.

you can try this keyword by spamming using a web2.0 too, so there will be hit or miss without much waste of time.

depending on niche, KWs can be highly competing or less or medium..

The one with 4k searches is not really tough to compete with, you need a good strategy !

4k searches should not be that hard to compete but you will have to test it to be sure. Use web 2.0 its cheaper and fast.

There's no difference if you are looking to rank in the organic results. That competition tab is only useful to paid search marketers but is sometimes usesd to guage the profitability of a keyword.
