Are Mafia Wars Friends worth anything?

I figure the easiest way to make a profile grow really fast is to go into Mafia Wars groups and ask for adds.

But... are those kind of friends really worth anything? Most of those people must have accounts filled with spam already so they musn't click much... or maybe im wrong and they are the gullible types that join any group and click around everywhere?

What do you guys think?

i had 3 accounts all with 5k friends each and i messaged them all with an ebook from CB. I got 10 conversions from all 15k mails sent.. not really worth it. But, hey, it was $200 with almost no work.. I can't complain. I tried again with a farmville book. Didnt convert at all. I guess people are becomming to wary now.
