Recently, I heard a guy say that backlinks from article directories is not good.

He showed the logic that they have all types of articles are available on those sites. So, the backlinks won't be relevant.

But, I wanna know your opinions.

How much of that is true?

First, it depends on the directory, second, unless it's a bad directory, links won't hurt. What is true about that is that your resources, time and money, may be better spent on getting other more relevant and beneficial links. However, a few links from non spammy and reputable directories are not a bad thing to mix it up a little.

Thats bullshit. Link directories still work well.
A while ago Google deindexed a ton of link directory links. Would they do that if they did not work?

Link directories sort links by topic, so they are in a relevant context. However link directories usually do not pass that much link juice.

Article Directories are not actually bad but a lot of them don't give you a DF link. In addition to that, the link juice is not really worth creating a unique piece of content for them either. Unless you want to get syndicated across multiple sites which usually happens when I post an article to Ezine then you'll be better off doing something else with your time.

Really depends on directory, there were few that were extremely good, but overall it's not that big of a deal, I'd rather submit a good unique article to the good site of my niche as a guestpost.

Article Directories still work, make sure to submit in the correct category.

Welcome to SEO where everyone is a guru and most people just parrot some shit they read from some other guru.

Article directory links can still be beneficial, I would probably prioritise my best content for my websites though over posting them out to an article site just to get a link for it.

In a time where good content is a large part of the puzzle for ranking it is a good idea to keep the best knowledge to your own money sites.
