Are links from a site's header menu powerful?

I have the opportunity to get a do-follow link from a major news publication, with my link going in their header navigation menu. Is this stronger than a link from one of their inner pages?

Of course it's valuable. It's a sitewide link, so you'll get many dozens-thousands backlinks (depending on page size/indexed pages) from just that backlink.

Yes, this is good link. You will have "link" from all pages of site. Also this is header navigation link and to my opinion they are really strong links.
